Boy Scout Wild Life Weekend is a great summer event, whether you are celebrating the end of a great year or the start of an even more exciting one!  This program, for group of 15 or more, is held Aug 25-27, 2006 and offers a two night camping package.  Because family participation is the key to any troop’s success, this event is not only open to the scouts but also their families.

An up to date CLASS 3 HEALTH form will be required for all participants on this trip!!   All people who are planning to attend will need to sign up on our sign up sheet – this includes parents and siblings.

PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE LIMITED SPACE ON THE BUS TO TRANSPORT OUR GROUP – BOY SCOUTS, REGISTERED TROOP LEADERS, AND THE TROOP LEADERS FAMILIES WILL HAVE FIRST CHANCE AT THE EXTRA SPACES ON THE BUS BEFORE SIBLINGS.

This package includes Saturday’s admission into Hershey Park, a Boy Scout exclusive all-you-care-to-eat buffet for dinner on Saturday in the Park and a commemorative patch.  The package also includes the tent camping fees, breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning at the campground, and a special educational “after hours” visit to ZOOAMERICA” for the “Creatures of the Night” program, where the boys will discover interesting facts about North America’s wildlife. ZOOAMERICA is an 11-acre walk-through zoo home to animals and living plants native to five regions of North America.

HERSHEYPARK has over 60 rides and attractions -- literally something for everyone. We are proud to boast that we have nine coasters (more than any other amusement park in Pennsylvania!), seven water rides and more than 20 kiddie rides.

The FINAL cost for the entire trip including transportation to Hershey, PA is still being determined, as the transportation costs will depend on the number of people attending the trip.  Rates for the actual event at Hershey park however will be as follows – Ages 9 – 54 will be $70 per person.  This amount will be due on or before May 1st .  REMEMBER THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF TRANSPORTATION, THE COST OF MEALS ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY’S LUNCH, AND ANY MEALS EATEN DURING THE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WINDHAM OR ANY OTHER PURCHASES YOU WANT TO MAKE.  The rate will be based on tent camping at Hershey High Meadow Campground in the area the boy scouts will be assigned.  You provide tents and all the camping equipment.  This even is an “all weather” event and will be held rain or shine.  Boy Scout Wildlife weekend is primarily a tent camping event for the boys and their families.  If however parents and siblings want to rent a cabin at the Campground, they are free to make their own arrangements directly through Hershey High Meadow Camp Ground® (1-800-242-4236) for an additional fee.  There will not be a deduction in the fee the troop charges if you choose to rent a cabin.  You will need to book the cabins early, as they will be hard to get for that weekend.  Because this is a Troop event and because the tenting area the Troops will be using is not near the cabin area, no Boy Scout or Supervising Adult can use the cabins at any time during this trip.
